Sore Throat/STD?

I had intercourse and oral sex with a guy a couple of weeks ago.  I know he's had several girls in the past and he told me that he has always used condoms, for the main fact that he doesn't want to get a girl pregnant.

The intercourse was protected with a condom but the oral sex wasn't.  I did not let him ejaculate into my mouth because I'm one of those who always spits after giving oral sex on a guy anyway.  Now, I'm having a slightly sore throat.  I don't have any rashes, no fever and my lymph nodes aren't swollen.  I was just wondering if it could be something else or a possible STD from the oral sex?

After I had sex with him, I went and got an HIV test 3 days later.  The results were negative, but I have to go back in another few weeks to test again and then another 2 more months to know for sure.  I've always been so paranoid about STD's and it's a constant worry for my generation.

Here's the thing.  Getting oral std's is rare.  Sore throats could be just that.  A sore throat.  Take a look at your tonsils and see if there are any white spots on or near them.  If so, you will need to get swabbed.  But do not panic.  It could be strep, or tonsillitis,  or some other throat infection that we would "normally" get.  Relax and if it causes you this much worry, then I would advise you use something for oral sex as well.
