Sore Throat after 2 days of unprotected oral sex - STDs??

Hi,

I'm a guy and 2 days ago I performed and received unprotected oral sex from another guy I met online. We did some deep kissing and some brief orals with no deep throat. Both of us didn't ejaculate into each other's mouth. We didn't do any penetrative sex either. He didn't seem to have any sign of STDs on his penis but less than 2 days later I developed sore throat. I'm now a bit panicking about if I got STDs like the oral gonorrhea. I'm not sure if sore throat caused by STDs would develop this fast? and any idea about the chance of me getting STDs? Thank you all in advance!

I differ on this over 90% of men would show symptoms of gonorrhea. I see no major need for testing as your risk was low.

Most STI's can be detected as soon as they're symptomatic (some even before). Gonorrhea is one of them. You can get tested.

Thanks Eyyl. Can I get tested now or I need to wait for a few days before I get tested for any STDs?

Well, In a large percentage of men gonorrhea don't show symptoms so you can never trust a person "not showing symptoms" to not have anything with or even without his knowledge.

gonorrhea takes between 2 days to a week Usually to start showing symptoms. While oral gonorrhea is not as common as genital, it's entirely possible the sore throat could be a symptom for gonorrhea.
But bare in mind also that a sore throat could be a symptom of various illnesses including the common cold or even just of a night out singing loudly.

If you are concerned you can get tested, the test is very simple (throat swab test) or a urine sample for the genital one.
