Can I still have unprotected sex even if I’ve been treated from chlamydia?

I just wanted to know if it’s good enough to still have unprotected sex even if you have been treated from chlamydia

If it has been at least 7 days from your treatment (if you were treated with one dose of azithromycin) or you have finished your meds (if you were given 7 days of doxycline), you can have sex again.

HOWEVER, if you are having sex with a previous partner who has not been treated, you'll just end up getting infected again.

If you continue to have unprotected sex with others, you'll risk getting infected with chlamydia again, or something else. Not everything is so easily treated as chlamydia, and repeated infections can contribute to long-term harm for you and your partners.

Having unprotected sex outside of a mutually monogamous, committed, long-term relationship has risks. If you were in one of those, you wouldn't have chlamydia, so use condoms.
