Syphilis from Oral Sex

Can someone please help me.

In October last year I went on a lads night out and we hired a private booth in a strip club. In brief, I got very drunk and the stripper poured Champaign on my genitals and sucked / licked it off (this lasted a couple of seconds). This was nothing but a joke with friends. I have never even kissed another women since I met my wife and would NEVER cheat on her! After this event I started to panic and made myself very ill over worrying that I may have caught something (lost nearly a stone in weight). My wife would not forgive me and I don’t blame her! This was idiotic and stupid but all alcohol inflicted!

After this event, I started the read the medhelp and got tested for gonorrhoea & chlamydia, they were both negative. Over the last couple of months I have had the odd bump / rash (but not an ulcer or open wound) which brought me back to the site and alarmed concerns over potential Syphilis – I did not test for this last year.

I have recently visited a GUM clinic (they said experiences like mine happen every week, don't often result in an STD but still possible). They did say that Syphilis was possible (but not likely) and sometimes people only get minimal symptoms like mine - they have advised I take a test for reassurance. My wife has also had flu like symptoms lately which made me worry further.

I was tested this week and get my results tomorrow, do you believe that I was at risk? I’m praying for a negative result tomorrow because my marriage will be over due to a stupid lads night out!

Can someone please reassurance me, please!

Ok. So no contact with sore - no infection?

My wife, no contact with sore - no infection through semen?

Reread what I wrote above, how syphilis is transmitted has already been answered.

Much appreciated Vance.

You answered NO on Q3 but it was a two part question - would I need to have a rash or canker to infect my wife? or would semen from sex infect her?

Ok that's reassuring. Just so I understand:

1. So her hand gripping my penis wouldn't expose a risk?

2. She definitely didn't have a sore on her lips - not sure about inside though hence my reason for testing. Can it be passed without the sore?

3. If I unknowingly had syphilis, could I have passed it to my wife without the canker or rash (I've had neither) or do they need to be present to be infectious to someone else?

I love my wife dearly and just feel terrible over this situation! I hope Friday brings good news. I will let you know my results, thanks again.

Syphilis is transmitted with direct contact with a syphilis sore and typically has to be grinded in.

Hi Vance,

I need to retake my test because I didn't provide enough blood with the finger prick test. I get my results on Friday and very nervous!

The stripper had no sores on her mouth and I did not see if her hands had a rash - it was very dark.

How is syphilis transmitted?

Her hand gripped my penis. If she had a rash on her hand could I be at risk?

I have had sex with my wife many times since this event (I've had no rash or sores), could I have infected her?
