Is Gonorrhea transmission possible other than sexually ?

Hello !
I am a 19 year old gay male, and the 18/12/17 I was diagnosed with throat Gonorrhea. I have taken the required medication and antibiotics, but what I do not understand is how I got it.
In September 25, I had oral sex with a man whose STD status was unknown. I got tested two days later, and all tests came back negative (hiv, hep c, gono, chlamydia, etc.). Then, from October up to December 2017, I have had only one partner, a 20 year old boy, with whom I have been sexually exclusive, while he hasn't with me, and I know he does not always protect himself with other boys. Up to November, we had 3 sexual encounters (oral sex only) unprotected, then I got tested around the 11/11/17 and everything came back negative. From then on, all our sexual encouters have been fully protected (condoms for oral and anal sex as well as barriers for rimm jobs). Mid-november, I fell very ill, my throat was aching horribly for at least a week, and I though I had some sort of very sever flu. My following std test, on 18/12/17 revealed I had Throat Gonorrhea; meanwhile, my partner was back in the USA for the holidays, and also got tested, but his results for Gonorrhea and Chlamidya came back negative. How and where did I get Gonorrhea, if I systematicaly used protection for all my sexual encouters since my last std test, which were all negative?

Also, this morning (29/12/17), almost a week after I took the medications prescribed for Gono (on the 23/12/17) my brother woke up with symptoms, very similar to the ones I experienced, in his throat (soreness and aching). He is a virgin (as far as I know), and has had no sexual encounters in the past months. We share a bathroom, and our toothbrushes tend to be very close. Is there any possibility that I passed him Gonorrhea? Should he get tested in a clinic?

Thanks you very much for your time Docs :)

Hi if a throat swab culture was the test perform then you can conclude you did have gono but how you got it can be really known and all i can say that symptoms of gono appear about 5 days after exposure. But unlike inside the penis urethra where its a confined protected area and symptoms almost always appear in men 5 days later, the throat could hold the bacteria without symptoms until it works its way into the tissue but how long that would take is just a guess.
