The question nobody can answer

I have one simple question that I have had zero success in getting a REAL answer. This is my last hope in finding an answer.

I had genital molluscum c. for about 6 months, after dozens of cryofreezes I have been without lesions for 5 months. The question is, if I remain abstinent can it come back (chances)? Am I immune to it now? At least 5 doctors have given me different answers on whether you are immune to it after having it or not.

There is not a lot of research in this area as molluscum is a benign common skin virus. If it behaves like HPV, then the immune reaction of the body would be mediated through the T-Cells and immune CD8 helper cells. Molluscum can be reaquired if you have contact with some one with the infection. Molluscum is self limited except in people with advanced immune disease and in AIDS patients. Hope this helps.

I appreciate the feedback.

I am a healthy male 25 years old, no immune diseases or AIDS.

I just find it very annoying that some doctors tell their patients that either:

"once you have it and its gone, then it wont come back unless you are exposed to it again"

or

"once you have it and its gone, you are immune to further exposures"

They have obviously learned the above from somewhere.

Would you say I am MORE or LESS resistant to it now that I have had it it?
