Throat swab?

I gave a guy oral sex back in October 09.  I went to my local clinic and go swabs and blood tests taken.  All my results were negative, however i read somewhere that i should get a throat swab taken?  I contacted my GUM clinic and they said that is not part of their normal routine.  Should i be getting this thorat swab taken?

That only happens if vaginal gonorrhea is left untreated. oral does not cause those problems. And oral gonorrhea is uncommon so that is why it is not tested for.

I read somewhere though that it can cause heart problems, pelvic problems and infertility.  Its really scaring me actually! I dont understand why my local std centre doesnt test for that.

Well that is how oral gonorrhea would be diagnosed btu I see no real reason to have it done. Most of the time oral gonorrhea will cure it's self after a couple of months. And getting an oral STD is not all that common. So you can if you want, but don't see it as necessary.
