Urethra/Prostate Pain

I'm a 34 year old unmarried male but in a long term, generally monagomous relationship.

A little over a month ago, I had sex with a call girl and used a condom. Intercourse was very brief.

One week later, developed sharp pain in my penis - nothing on the exterior but felt like it was inside like on my urethra. The pain woke me at night was was steady during the day. Appeared to have a mild, clear discharge but nothing pussing, yellow or of any color. Again, no external symptoms.

My girlfriend and I each took 10 days of Doxycycline and a single 500mg dose of Cefixime (Suprex). All sympyoms subsided on day 8 or so and discontinued Doxy after 10 day course.

Two days later, began having to urinate constantly and mild pain returned to urethra. Discomfort also in the prostate. The next day, significant prostate pain and increasing urethral discomfort. Went to ER, prescribed Cipro 2x day (250mg each) for 10 days and 1g Zithromax. Symptoms resolved in 48 hours but now still on Cipro and 6 days after Zithromax and pain has returned to urethra as bad as before but now no real discomfort in prostate.

What's next? What do I possibly have?

Is what I have contagious?

The medication you have taken should have taken care of any chlamydia, NGU, and gonorrhea infection you may have had.  No where in there did you mention actually testing positive.  You should maybe try to see a urologist and look into possible problems with your prostate itself.  Other than that, your symptoms described were possibly chlamydia, NGU, or gonorrhea which you were treated for.
