How long does it take to get results back and will my doctor call if results are neg?

It takes 1-2 hr to do the test. All additional time is in processing: sending specimen to the lab, waiting until there are enough specimens to fill a test run (since they're tested in batches, not individually), getting results into a computer, and finally communicating results to the doc's office. In high volume settings, like public STD clinics, the tests often are available the next day. In others, it can be a week or more.
Thank you, test was done right here in our small town, doctors office and lab are in the same building so communication should be quick between them.

If it's an std test usually it takes 3-5 days not including weekends, and yes they will call you regardless of if it's negative or positive.
