STD in china - Can't afford doctor

So I live in china, and recently my penis is secreting a yellowy green liquid and its a little itchy and painful, and I'm needing to pee more than usual. My symptoms started 2 weeks after a condom broke while having sex with a Chinese girl.

The problem is, Chinese public hospitals are appalling. And I've heard its law for hospitals to report foreigners with STD's so they can be deported. I've also read of people going several times with totally different results from the same test. I'd like to go to a western private clinic, but can't afford the crazy high prices.

So my question is, under the circumstances, would it be highly inadvisable to treat myself with antibiotics bought from a chemist. one plus of being in china is unlike the west, medication like doxycycline, erythromycin etc are all available to me over the counter

So  would it be ok to take a course of doxycycline (which I've read is the most widely used for STD's) and see if my symptoms improve?  Then a little later down the line when I have the money together, I can go to a private clinic.

Your body could have a side effect to the medication, you could develop a tolorance to the medication.

Likelyhood of a yeast infecion? Can't say.

See a Dr. Nothing else we are going to advise you about medication.

If I go to the hospital here I'll most likely be treated without a diagnosis anyway, which has happened to me here before many times (please remember I'm in china, which despite the what you may hear in the media, really isn't as developed as you might think). I've actually been treated with drugs illegal in the west for causing deaths, and that was at a main Beijing hospital.  And I won't be able to afford a private clinic for around 2 months. So while I know you never 'advise' it. Whats the worst I could do by taking a weeks course of doxycycline? And whats the likelihood of it being a yeast infection, which antibiotics would make worse? Could I use a cream for yeast infection while taking antibiotics?

We never advise treating without a diagnosis. Get to a Dr and get tested. Only thing you can do as this does sound like a STD.
