I had all the symptoms. Esposure Dec 4th, 2006, 5 days later had flue like illness that lasted 7 days, mostly was muscle and joint ache, and extreme fatique, I was pissing hot urine of a week as well. I also had blood in semen on day 13. Went to ER they asked me" if I used a condom" I said yes then I was told there was no risk... 0 risk. But they did give me antibiotics. Then fatique stayed all the way through March or Even April. Jundice started in about 4 weeks out as well but was mild lasted like 3 days, I turned slightly yellow went to another infectious disease doctor, saying I am feeling sick, he did not find me to be yellow. Said I am spending way to much time reading about STD's over the internet. January 10th or so started to have pains in the upper right ribcage. Then I was tested for Hepatitis. And So there you go. Later tests revealed I was infected with a mutant strain, the kind that usually allways stays chronic that I am being told now - 8 months out. So I tell you I had such a nightmare with all the doctors....
Travis,
Here is what you want to do. First ask for a complete STD's panel check. This means HiV, Hep A, B, C, D Herpes 1 and 2, CMV, EBV, Syphillis, have urine culture and urinalysis for bacteria. This will screan you for about all of it. And do a CBC (complete blood count ) and also comprehensive metabolic panel blood tests. Then you will know what you have if it is disease related.
Hep B effects people differently I had mild symptoms as well, that's quite common. I seen like 3 docs from december to march, had to read a book on all these things, then just demended to tested... because I was told I am crazy... and doctors after listening to my complaint's wrote me prescription for antidepresants and phsychiatrist refferals. After I found out what I was sick with I wrore many letters to my docs... never got a responce. California Medical Board too did not find any wrong doing by my treating docs... that just FAILED to give test me. Now I have an incurable disease... with available treatmens.
Best of luck to you Travis
