performing oral sex on a woman while having sore gums

hi, i had sex with a sex worker today and performed oral sex on her twice. a few minutes before having sex, i ate a sandwich- the bread was rather hard to chew and i felt it hurt my gums. after the sex i realized a rather large section of my gums and roof of my mouth are sore and red. i realize i am at risk, but i am wondering how much of a risk are we talking about? i should also mention that i was actually trying not to get any vaginal fluid in my mouth and spitted out regularly. tnx

it's not the vaginal fluid that is the risk to you, it's the sex act itself - the heat and friction of performing oral on a partner is how most std's are transmitted. it's always recommended that you only give and receive protected oral sex unless it's a regular long term partner.

was this a real risk for an oral sex for you? it's very low risk in general and we don't recommend any testing from it in general.
