plain and simple language needed

I know this might seems dense, but in plain and simple language, does a neg. herpes IgG result on both type 1&2 with a positive IGM/non specific type, mean a recent infection of either type 1 or 2?

Sorry but all this info is overwhelming and confusing to me!

Thank you for answering. I wanted to get over this insane craziness I am feeling before calling the doctor.  I WILL find out more. Thanks.

I have read over and over again that IGM tests are worthless and results are very inaccurate.  You can do further reading to understand the science behind why this is so.
What many people seem to find is that they get a positive IGM only to find out later that they do not have HSV1 or 2.
Grace, who also answers on this board, can give you a much more scientific answer I'm sure on why IGM tests often show false positive.
Don't worry to death on this because it is very likely to be a false scare for you.  Try to educate yourself on the IGM test and what causes it to be inaccurate.
