Trich and Past History

Hello, several years ago, then in the summer of 17 and January of 18, I was screened for STD's due to my husband's frequent infidelities. My STD screens came back negative. However, approximately 4 weeks ago I began having symptoms discharge that was greenish.

I was diagnosed with BV. After a course of metronidazole, the symptoms persisted. I returned it to the doctor Who then screened again for chlamydia gonorrhea and trichomoniasis.

The results returned positive for trich.

My husband claims that he has been faithful since September of 2016. It is difficult to find factual information on symptoms, test results, and incubation periods.

I would like to know the following information:

1.  Is it true that trich can remain dormant in a woman and not show up on STD screens?

2. I was told trich is similar to herpes- you may be asymptomatic yet it will show in a test.  Is this true?

3.  Can my husband be asymptomatic and not pass to me for years?

4. During (and well before) my recent breast cancer with chemo, my husband was unfaithful.  My last treatment was June 2016. Could my suppressed immune system cause coupled with being sick appx the same time as symptoms began to show, trigger trich after many negative tests results?

We have been in counseling for over a year, but with 10 years of his track record I find it extremely difficult to believe he has been faithful since Sept 2016.

Thank you for your thorough consideration with these concerns.

Really, I don't know much about Trich, but I do know about listening to your intuition.

Also, it seems like you've been through a lot.  The last thing you need in your life is a husband that won't even be faithful to you while you're battling breast cancer.  Take it from someone who made bad decisions...love yourself enough to put your well being first.  You're worth it.

At least it's not a incurable STD.  Take care of yourself and best wishes.

Well, medical evidence rarely lies.  Men, on the other hand, do.

Has been proved he picked it up from an sexual encounter.

What DID I do to deserve this??
