finding out you have high risk hpv is stressful enough, no reason to think you are infected with 13 different types of high risk hpv!!!
keep asking questions here or on the hpv forum as you have them :)

Thank you. I realized that, and you did put my mind at ease. :)
yes, it's as I said - it's not that you have 13 different types of hpv, you had high risk hpv detected, of which it's one of the 13 types listed.
Thank you. I am going to check with my doctor tomorrow. They didn't tell me my results from the obgyn. I actually just had my doctor send for results of my pap smear, and i got the report back so i was tripping out about it.
The paper says:
High Risk HPV Types: 16,18, 31, 33, 35, 39, 45, 51, 52, 56, 58
59, 68
Detected
actually you aren't likely to have 13 different types of hpv. I'm guessing your test results returned with 13 different types of hpv listed which means that it didn't specifically differentiate which type it was , only that you have high risk hpv of which those 13 different types are considered high risk. hope that helps you better understand your test results!
could you have hpv orally? You could but we don't have any commercially available tests to test for it. even if you did test + for it orally, we have no treatments for it anyways so we typically don't test for hpv orally unless you have either an oral cancer or oral symptoms of hpv.
the good news is, 92% of all hpv infections will clear themselves from the body within 2 years and not be an issue. regular follow up with your gyn will help you keep on top of things and treat things genitally as they need treated :)
