std's on vibrator

I purchased a Lelo vibrator on amazon.  When I got it, it was in it's original box, no plastic wrapping on it.  I went to put it on the charger.  A couple of days later I had a little bit of time and went to use it.  Purely external on the clitoris and vulva area.  No insertion.  After about 5 minutes I realized I hadn't washed it or cleaned it!  Panic mode set in.  I washed myself with antibacterial soap and then stupidly doused myself with Purell.  I looked back to see who it was actually sold from and it's from what looks like an auction house that sells quite a few lelo brands.  Now I am panicked that maybe this was a returned item, or something may have been on the vibrator.  It looked clean and no "residue" was on there.  Now 24 hours later, I'm very dry and kind of burning from the dryness.  What are the chances that an STD or HIV was on the vibrator?  Could the dryness be from the purell?  Help!  I am in full panic mode right now - I can't believe I was so dumb to forget something like that.

purell should NEVER be used on the genital area! It is very drying and irritating and actually puts you at risk of infections due to the skin damage it causes. Never use anything but soap and water on the genital area - it takes care of anything you could be worried about germwise.

no reason to think this was a used vibrator either. no company would stay in business selling used sex toys!

You can not get a STD that way. The vibrator would have had to be used within minutes of you using it. Other wise anything possible on it was dead.
