does the blood bank call you if you have an STD , or do they keep it a secret?

The blood banks aren't testing for ALL stds - only the ones that are blood borne.

If you are concerned about gonorrhea, chlamydia, herpes, hpv, etc., you need to be tested.

I believe that they have an obligation to inform you if something in your blood tests positive. But if you are worried about an STD, you should get tested and no wait for a blood bank to call you.
