Canker Sore on Penis

I recently developed a sore on my penis which I can only describe as a canker sore. It is round and uniform in shape and painful. I am married and have not strayed from my marriage, and have 100% confidence that my wife has not. We recently had a baby, and she was tested for any STDs during that time. It is not a cluster of sores and not a blister. I can only describe it as a canker sore-like ulcer. The last parter I had was over 3 years ago, and I have not been able to find anything that matches my issue with a timeline such as that. The only thing I have done different lately is shave for the first time in that area. I am just looking for a little direction, and if it’s possible I could have been carrying an std that hasn’t shown symptoms for several years and had unprotected sex with my wife since the beginning of our relationship 3 years ago without her contracting whatever I may be carrying. Thank you.

Lots of things can cause sores on your genitals, and only a few are STDs. You are really low risk for STDs - it's been a few years since you were with another partner, and you're in a monogamous relationship.

You really should let your doctor take a look at it, if you haven't already. It doesn't sound like an STD, but if your doctor thinks it's herpes (which it really, really doesn't sound like), make them do a PCR swab on it.

Canker sore occur in the mouth (often caused by using commercial toothpaste).  So it's not that.  If you think you have an STD, get tested.  It sounds unlikely, but nobody here can tell you if it's an STD.  Don't understand why you'd shave in that area, but it's a tender spot and if you've never shaved anywhere on your body the first time can be very hard on your skin, so that's a possibility, but the only way you'll know is to see a doctor.  Sometimes sores develop there if you have a lot of sex in a short period of time or if you are getting vigorous with your hands or your wife's hands  -- it can get abraded.  But again, if you're concerned, see someone who can diagnose it, which nobody on the internet can do.
