Systemic fungal infection

Husband has a long history of jock itch that he sprays daily to relieve. I developed an insane itch in my same area that intensified at night. Ob/GYN said I had a fungal infection and it had gone systemic. Prescribed course of Fluconazole tablets 150 mg, and the itch went away. I am imagining that his ongoing jock itch somehow spread through intercourse and gave me jock itch and introduced it into my vagina and beyond. Husband doesn't want to go see a doctor and insists his daily sprays "work." I'm symptom free and not wanting a reinfection. Are you sure it can't be spread person to person via intercourse?

Yes it can spread to you, but you can also get it other ways too. Usually though your 'environment' down there is a big factor. Your husband should check that he is treating and preventing fungal infections appropriately.
