10/14 - Red area on shaft, skin sore, no classic blisters
10/20 - Red patch, red spots on tip, tingling returns
10/21 - Red, warm scrotum
10/22-23 - Uncomfort, jock itch soreness in genitals
10/24 - Slight fever, pimple\ingrown hair appeared & popped in pubic line... healed following day
10/27-28 - Tingling

11/7 Herpesselect lgg test back neg
11/7-9 - Cut like area on left side shaft
11/10 - Tingling in buttocks, lower legs, intense pressure feeling in scrotum all afternoon/evening.  Heat along shaft all pm.
11/13- Saw another doctor - In his opinion, not herpes, no blistering nor "large" swollen lymph nodes
11/14 - Still sore on left side of penis, tingling and feverish
11/14- Pain in testicles
11/18-20 - Small, pimplelike red bumps on thighs corresponding with sweating / 2 swelled up but went away within 2 days.
11/18 - 21 - Feverish in pelvic area
11/21-23 - Continued tingling and pinching sensation which has been going on & off since early Oct
11/24 - Saw doc again and she still sees no visual signs.. feels legs spot are folliculitis
No: Discharge, pain while urinating, cluster of blisters.
Awaiting 2nd herpesselect- 52 days since 1st redness/60 since encounter
What are my odds if negative? Thanks!

Thank you Doctor... the comments on 120 waiting periods freak me out but I'm putting all my trust on your words.
Thanks again.

Your results are clear.  You do not have herpes.  No further testing is required.  EWH

As you noted, HerpeSelect test at 8 1/2 weeks post encounter did come back negative.  (HSV 1 at 6.4 but already expected that.)  Tingling\pinching which had gone on for 7 weeks seems lessoned.  My concern still lingers due to references to 120 day waiting periods... should I seek out BioKit as well, or just forget about it?

Thank you very much.  I definately needed an experts opinion.  My heart still races... but I will bet the odds.  Clueless as to the "symptoms" and small bumps which still linger, but I am grateful for your response.
Thank you!

Thanks for the detailed description. I predict your HerpeSelect will be negative or, if it is in the "low positive" range, that it will be a false positive.

Let's break things down a bit. Your partner was on suppressive therapy. This means that her probability of transmitting herpes was reduced by half because of the therapy and then, through your condom use you reduced your risk another 60-90% (at least).  Realize that most exposures to partners with herpes do not lead to infection even if condoms are not used and if the person is not on suppressive therapy. Your situation is much, much better.

Having told you your exposure was low risk, now let me mention that your lesions and symptoms are not suggestive of herpes as well.  You have had no classical  blisters or ulcers and your symptoms (tingling, etc) are most atypical.

I would urge you to not worry about herpes.  Whether your symptoms are an expression of your anxiety or not I cannot say for sure but I think it is at least a possibility.  EWH
