I have no further comments. The way to know the cause of a medical problem is to see a provider, not ask questions online. Your symptoms don't suggest herpes, however.
I won't have any further comments on this thread.
Hey doctor this past sunday i took a shower and noticed under my foreskin was red and it is sore to touch, there is no visible lesions but it hurts sometimes and is sore the burning of the urethra still exists. I get a wierd tingling burning down my left leg every morning,i dont know what that is.Is it even possible to have an outbreak last a week and then clear up for a week and begin to get another one week after it healed, the redness is sore feeling and hurts just as the red rash with 3 bumps that i had 3 weeks ago. Sorry to pester you, i haven't received my viral culture yet it has been 2 1/ 2 weeks i dont what takes so long. Please help!
Herpes never causes symptoms more than 1-2 weeks at a time. Continuing "burning" cannot be herpes; and herpes always responds to Valtrex. I cannot say whether other findings support herpes, but it is not the cause of your current symptoms. Beyond that, I have no opinion.
I appreciate your honesty, I have been very depressed my primary care physician has told me it looks like herpes and put me on valtrex. Yes i did see a dermatologist and he did say it doesn't look like it but judging on my events and symptoms. Does this sound like herpes? I dont have a rash or blister anymore but i still have a burning tip. I am nervous and it doesnt sit well with me that i could be experiencing burning tip for 4 weeks. please help
Sorry, I cannot help. You have seen at least two providers, including a dermatologist. A dermatologist's opinion that the lesion isn't herpes is highly reliable. Anyway, since you had condom-protected sex, herpes or any other STD is unlikely. In any case, a distant online expert cannot compete with the opinion and advice of provders who actually have examined someone. Clearly no STD is responsible for your problem, and that's as far as this forum goes.
Good luck-- HHH, MD
