Worried about STD

Hello Dr.

I am 28 year male. I had few sexual encounter with escorts but all protected. But with few of them I had unprotected oral sex, receiving and performing on them. The last encounter included  penetrating
my finger into her anal for about 1 min and I have a very bad habit of biting my skin around the nails and i had some blood from biting my skin. After two weeks from exposure I had a pink eye and servre burning during urination for about a week. My pink is gone but I still have little burning while I urine. Should I test for STD or could this be a symptom for HIV. Other than this I have no other symptom. I would really apprecite if you could answer this question as I am really scared. Thank you for time.

Just to wanted let you know that I went and tested for Chamlayia, Gonehe, Hepb, and Syphilis. Due to grace of god all negative. Now I just want to know whether I need to test for Hiv or not. I would really appreciate your opinion. My physician told I don't need to since I was not in high risk exposure. What is your opinion. Thank you very much

Your exposure is low risk for HIV.  On the other hand, it sounds possible that you acquired urethritis (penile infection) which would be a possible cause of burning on urination.  I would suggest that you see someone, preferrably someone who could perform a urethral gram stain as well as usual test for STDs.

Exchanging or exposing one's self to other persons secretions when you have an open sore is not a good idea.  While your risk is low, these risks are also cummulative.  I would recommend you try to ether stop biting the skin on your hand or stop putting fingers with open sores in places where they can be contaminated by the secretions of others.

I hope this helps.  EWH
