Burning Sensation

I had an extramarital affair with a lady I just met, on Monday march 1st. I was using condom, but the condom broke, and I was inside her for about 2 minutes (with a broken condom), before I noticed it. I was using an spermicidal condom. That same nigh I had sex with my wife, and also the following day.
On the third day, I started feeling a burning sensation on my penis, it was really bothersome. I had no discharge or pain when urinating. I started to get really worry, since I was afraid that I got my wife infected. On Friday March 5th, I decided to go to the doctor. He did a visual examination of my urine and said that it looked clear (no sign of std)
But he sent the urine to the lab to be examined, he gave me an injection and prescribed medication to be taken for 10 days (twice a day).
The results came back today and they were negative.
I have a few questions

1.   What could cause the burning sensation on my penis, could it have been the type of
       condom I was using?
2.   If I was infected, was there a chance that I could have infected my wife when having
      sex.
3.   Is it possible that I did the test too soon and it showed negative because of that
      reason?

Welcome to the STD forum.

You did the right thing by seeing a health care provider about your painful urination.  You should be reassured by the result; most likely no STD is present.

1) The common spermicides are very irritating if they get inside the urethra.  That's probably what happened here.  This is one reason that we never recommend spermicidal condoms.  They are no more safe than regular condoms, but they can result in exactly this sort of problem.

2) If you caught an STD, then it is possible your wife was at risk. Most STDs are not transmissible so soon, but I cannot say for sure it cannot happen.

3) Testing for urethral STDs -- mostly gonorrhea and chlamydia -- is accurate very promptly, usually within 3 days.  You can rely on the negative test results.

I hope this helps.  Best wishes-- HHH, MD

I had sex with the lady mentioned above on March 1st, I am planning on taking the HIV test, just to make sure.
How long does it take for the HIV become infectious, after (if) acquired
days, weeks or months

Dr huntsfield I have been waiting and watching my response be ignored for 24 hours now. Have I asked something inappropropriate?
