I forgot to also Ask also when is Candida normal caught with people infected with HIV? Is it the early stages of HIV or latter stages.
Good Morning Doctor.
Today morning I did the Candida test. I spat in a clear glass filled with water. After 20 minutes I could see my spit looking like tentacles and some debris on the bottom. I did the same thing but during the day and it wasn't the same. I can conclusively say i have Candida from what I am going through since the 1st couple of days after my exposure until now.
My Question is I am going to retake the 8 panel STI test next week which will be more than 4 weeks after exposure just to make sure for HIV and other STIs.
How likely is it for me to have HIV if I have Candida seeing that I had symptoms from the 1st week? Do people who have first signs of HIV generally have Candida?
I asked Labcorp about the accuracy and they said their tests are 99% accurate after 4 week exposure. If I test negative again for everything including HIV. Am I more acceptable to HIV when I have Candida?
Also what medications can I take to control Candida and is Candida curable?
Thank you.
I'm sorry that you continue to worry about the exposure you described several weeks ago. I will answer your question but before I do, I need to tell you that despite the fact that candida infections can rarely be acquired from performing oral sex on a partner who had vaginal candida infection, I doubt that your current symptoms are due to candida. Reports of symptoms due to systemic candidiasis on the internet are not well supported and are generally considered to be another example of incorrect, overstated beliefs that mislead people on the internet with all too much regularity.
Candida is regularly and normally found in the vagina and the mouth and is VERY, VERY rarely transmitted from person to person. We have seen a very few cases in which persons performing oral sex on a partner with vaginalis candida have developed thrush. From what you say, that is not the case for you.
Candida can be cultured from stool. Costs vary and if you choose to submit a culture, it is likely to be positive. That however DOES NOT mean that your symptoms are due to candida. My recommendation to you would be that it would be better to spend your money on counseling to help you work through your inappropriate and excessive anxiety over the exposure that ou described than to waste money on cultures and treatment for candida.
