1. You and the doctor are just guessing at what is going on. I'm troubled that the doctor you found apparently did not even examine you. Intermittent testicular pain is not a sign of any STD. This is unwise. Azithromycin is highly effective and the dose you are taking will cure chlamydia and NGU and most but not all gonorrhea.
2. You should stay off the internet. There is much incorrect information there and there statements you quote sound incorrect.
3. The symptoms you describe would not be characteristic of gonorrhea
You might try another doctor- perhaps a urologist. I would not trust a doctor who made therapeutic decisions without examining his patients.
Sorry you are having a difficult time. This will be all I have to say about this matter. EWH
Could it be gonorrhea? I know you can't give me a definite answer and the only way to know for sure is with a test but I honestly do not have access to those facilities at the moment.
Thank you for your time.
I have also been reading online that many people are not getting fully cured and rid of clamydia and that there tests just come back negative but still experience sone lesser symptoms but a constant soreness in the testies for what their doctors have said they should expect for the rest of their lives. What is the chance of this?
Hello doctor,
I've since tried to find a doctor that will give me a proper std test, but have not been able to find one. Since, I have talked to a local doctor and informed him my symptoms havnt fully subsided (still tiny amount of sticky discharge found at the tip, and burning while urinating) he prescribed me 1g of Zithromax for three days.
Yesterday, first day of taking the new medication I felt some pain in my testies that lasted about 10 minutes, however now after the second day of taking the medication there is a prolonged soreness in my testies.
I am worried that the infection has spread.
If in fact I dont or didn't have chlamydia what other type of infection or condition can cause these symptoms?
I'm glad I could help. EWH
Thank you I will take your advice and also seek out a doctor.
Trying to guess what might be happening without testing is inaccurate and your case is a good example of this. I suspect that even where you are located you will find that there are doctors who can test and treat STDs. You just need to ask around.
Several comment.
1. It sounds like the blood appeared within a day or so of your exposure. If so, this represents a broken blood vessel, not an STD. These sorts of things happen from time to time and should not alarm you. If the bleeding should recur and persist, you should see a urologist- there are a number of non-STD causes of blood in the urine.
2. Your urethral discharge may have been an STD such as chlamydia or NGU. The doxycycline you took should cure either and your improvement is probably a sign of this.
3. Repeated self-examination and squeezing is an irritant and can cause discharge by itself. Further, most men normally have slight amounts of urethral discharge which they do not notice until they start looking, squeezing, etc. I advise you to stop squeezing and examining yourself at all- you will probably get better. If you don't, or your symptoms get worse, you should go see a doctor.
4. In some people, particularly those that are looking very hard, symptoms can persist 4-7 days after treatment.
I hope these comments help. My advice for now is to stop examining yourself so much and try to relax. EWH
