Chlamydia from oral sex and very little vaginal penetration? Plus antibiotics

milky white discharge ,vaginal hole burning(not during urination, when wiping),bleeding 4 days after period lasting 6 days so far
Dates
5/6-8: oral sex-swallowing 3x; close to vaginal penetration 2x w/out intercourse (edge of hole without full penetration no ejaculation, do not know about precum)
5-13/15 break through bleeding/burning/discharge
5-18: go to Dr. start diflucan 1x and flagyl (7 days) symptoms lessen
5-21: oral sex to boyfriend/no vaginal intercourse, he touches me clitorally and his mouth during. The night before he finished 8 days of amoxycillin @250 mg 2x day
***All of my tests for chlamydia, both swabs and the urine test are done while on flagyl
5-21: vaginal swab-negative
5-22: symptoms reappear, period starts-symptoms subside on period
5-22: urine test-negative
5-23: oral swab tests negative- obgyn- while on period, no exam
5-30: symptoms reappear, planned parenthood, back on flagyl for BV they say not cleared up on period(vaginal test but I had put my finger there earlier to see if I still had discharge)
5-30: start bleeding lightly but June 1 medium bleeding
6-4:take Dr gives 1000mg Zpack, bleeding starts to lessen

1)could antibiotics have skewed my negative test results?  Or is that just the urine test?
2)If test results were wrong could I have chlamydia in my throat and given it to my boyfriend by giving him oral sex even though he had just finished antibiotics?
3)Will Z pack clear it up if I have it and when can I have sex?

Sorry--my original reply was intended to apply to gonorrhea as well as chlamydia, but I see that wasn't clear.  Just as for chlamydia, metronidazole (Flagyl) has no effect in treating gonorrhea, and therefore no effect on diagnostic tests for gonorrhea.

Thanks for your patience but I am asking about GONORRHEA testing and flagyl. Does flagyl compromise the test for gonorrhea?

I did understand your answer to chlamydia.

Taking Flagyl:  See sentence 2 of my original reply.

Chlamydia is rare in the throat, with or without ejaculation in the mouth.  If your partner was taking amoxicillin, he was protected.  All your tests were valid.

I need to ask one more very important question and I want to keep the number of threads open for others so I am posting it here.

Can taking flagyl give a false negative for gonorrhea testing?   I obviously had the gonorrhea done at the same time as my chlamydia tests but we never addressed gonorrhea, only chlamydia.  Am I safe that the gonorrhea tests are also valid?

no edit feature!!!  or I hope i would not be this annoying!!!

question number  2 was meant to ask if boyfriend taking antibiotics til the night before oral sex with me would safeguard him from getting it were I infected?

Understand your point on the threads...hopefully this is simpler.

Guy #1= fling/ no antibiotics

Guy #2= boyfriend/ took antibiotics

1)would guy #1 (not the boyfriend/no antibiotics) ejacualting in my mouth make me more likely to get chlamydia orally?

2)would guy #2 (my boyfriend) who took the antibiotics for the week before (til the night before to be exact) sexual contact with me safeguard him if I was infected?

3) are all the tests i took valid at the 13 to 16 day mark?

Only a limited number of new threads can be accepted, so I deleted your new thread to leave room for others. Anyway, such follow-up questions should be part of the original thread. Feel free to re-post your follow-up questions here--but only a couple of brief questions themselves, not all the background explanations.  From quickly scanning them in your new thread, I can tell you that I remain certain you didn't have chlamydia and probably were not at risk for it; all my responses above are unchanged.

Forgot to say that the oral sex on 5-6 to 5-8 was not with my boyfriend!  It was with a friend of mine.

Chlamydia doesn't explain your symptoms.  First, your tests were negative, and metronidazole (Flagyl) or fluconazole (Diflucan) would not affect those test results.  Second, the brief contact you describe carried little or no risk.  Third, amoxicillin is pretty active against chlamydia; you are unlikely to be infected by someone taking that drug for the previous week.

To your specific questions:

1) No, the antibiotics are not the reason for your negative chlamydia tests.

2) Chlamydia uncommonly infects the throat, and it is rarely if ever transmitted by oral sex.

3) If you had chlamydia, an azithromycin Z-pack would cure it.  But you don't, so it doesn't matter.

You need to continue to follow up with your own provider and follow his or her advice.  If uncertain about his/her expertise in sorting this out, ask for referral for a second opinion.

Best wishes--  HHH, MD
