Welcome to our Forum. I will try to answer your questions.
The two exposures you describe fall into the category of masturbation which is safe sex. No one has EVER gotten HIV from masturbation and that you licked your fingers while you were masturbating your partner does not change that. There is NO concern about HIV from the exposure you describe. As far as other STDs are concerned, this too would be most unusual (that is to say, I have never heard of, or seen an STD transmitted in this way). I predict that your tests will be negative. It sounds however as thought you do have irritation of the penis (the rash and the discharge) and the onset just one day after your exposure is consistent with local irritation/allergy, perhaps related to any lotion or cream that your partner may have used in masturbating you. Alternately, this could just be co-incidental. I have not had the opportunity to examine you and it sounds as though the GUM physician you have seen is doing all of the right things. Did he provide you with medication for your non-specific urethritis (NSU)?
In answer to your specific questions:
1. See above. Unlikely to be related to STD but possibly related to the activity. Could also be coincidence.
2. No
3. No
Hope this is helpful to you. It sounds like the GUM specialist who saw you is doing the right things.. EWH
Thanks for your reply.
The specialist has prescribed Augmentin 625 Mg but said that he will send my samples for further tests and that if the condition (after further tests ) requires any specific medication then they will let me know.
Also the specalist had mentioned from the initial tests that he did not feel it was
an STD from the 'pus count' but that he could not say for sure. This was after about 20 minutes of having taken my sample.
Still awaiting further results.
I agree with the specialist you saw. It sounds like you are now in "good hands" (pun intended). EWH
Hi Doctor
Just getting still slightly concerned. Its Sunday late evening and I have been on the
Augmentin 625 Mg since Thursday.I have been prescribed 3 per day for seven days.
I have been taking them every 8 hours since I left the specialist unit.
But , the burning on my penal shaft and at the tip of the penis has just started again.
Question
1)Is this a cause for concern ?
2)Would there there be a different type of medication (assuming I have contracted neither Chlamydia nor Gonnoreah) dependent on the results of further tests that my urine and blood have been sent for ?
3)Would the burning effect ultimately be eradicated by Augmentin once the 7 days course is over?
4)Some very little white stuff is still showing in the urine. But very little. Is this a cause
for concern or is it standard in an NSU for white stuff to still show after 4 days?
Thanks in advance
1. This may suggest that your symptoms are not being treated with the augmentin. I would not stop taking it but would re-visit your GUM specialist when possible.
2. This is a "what if" question which can be best answered by the GUM specialist when you see him/her.
3. See answers above.
4. This is not typical on NSU. My advice remains the same. Keep taking your medication for know and go see your GUM specialist.

Iam sorry to be such a pain but I hope this does not point towards an STD ?
Seems unlikely. As I have said, you need to see your GUM provider again. Please let us know what they say. Until then, there will be no further comments on this end. EWH
Hi Doctor
I finished my course of Antibiotics but the symptoms still prevailed. The GUM specialist said that they would only get in touch if there is a cause for concern.
I still went to see him on 26/03/10 whereby he told me that the tests were all negative
and thats why they hadnt contacted.HIV,Gonnorhea,Hepatitis B and Chlamydia were all negative. In addition he said that they had done a more sensitive test to check for
the growth of bacteria and even that was negative.
The GUM specialst suggested that I get an ultra sound done for my Urinary track which I got done on 31/03/10 and even that has come perfect and the expert who did
the ultra sound said that the result was normal and satisfactory. He is going to send the results to my doctor from whom I will be picking up and taking to the GUM specialist.
Iam getting extremely concerned about all this as the symptoms have prevailed.
I cant pick up the results until Friday and therefore thought I would ask you
if this is a normal situation for the symptoms to prevail for so long or if you can
give some sort of educated guess from your experiences as to what this could be
pointing towards.I had specifically asked the Ultra Sound expert if a tumour or cancer
would have shown up in the test and he did confirm that if it was the case it would
have easily shown up.
Obviously I do not have a lifestyle which would have warranted a positive results for HIV or any other STDs.
Thanks in advance.
Sorry to hear that your symptoms have persisted. The good news however is that they are not due to an STD including HIV. They are not typical of STD and your negative tests confirm this. It also sounds as though your health care providers are approaching your problem logically and thoroughly. My advice would be to work with them to address this. Unfortunately, there are a fair number of medical problems which must be addressed in a trial and error fashion. EWH
