Hello,
I am a 25 yr old male. About 8 days ago I received and gave very brief unprotected oral sex to a female with no ejaculation. The next day, I had a very slight numbing feeling in my penis but did not pay much attention to it. About 2-3 days following the possible exposure, I began to experience buring in my urethra, not while I urinate but constant. Next, my testicles would swell and become very painful, and finally I experienced a very uncomfortable numbness in one leg from my inner thigh down to my feet. Sometimes the numbing pain was localized entirely within my knee for a few hours, other times it would be my upper thigh, sometimes both. This numbing feeling would sometimes alternate between legs, but occured mostly in my left leg. All of these symptoms have been alternating back and forth for the past few days. I took a complete STD screening (urine and blood) 4 days after the possible exposure, which came back negative for everything. I have some doubts as I did urinate about 1.5 hours before the test, and read afterward that 2 hours is more appropriate of a waiting time. On day 5 after possible exposure, I saw my GP who did a urinalisys which she said was negative for a UTI. My doctor assumed it was chlamydia and perscribed 10 days of Doxycline Hyclate, I am now 4 days into taking this, and the buring seems to have subsided. However, I am still experiencing pain in the testicles and a numbing pain in my pelvic area and upper thighs.
My question is, can anything other than herpes cause these symptoms? I read about the leg pains online and everything seems to point to herpes. I have not yet noticed any bumps on my genitals, and I am constantly in a state of extreme stress because of this. Can chlamydia or gonnorhea, or anything other than herpes cause these symptoms? I plan on retesting for herpes in a few weeks (antibody specific blood test). Please share as much detail as possible, thank you.
