Could I have Herpes, Syphilis or another STD?

Dear Dr.,

Four nights ago I was out with a large group of friends at a local strip club and one of the strippers gave me a private dance, during which she touched her vagina and put her fingers inside of it, touched my penis with her hands (possibly after her fingers had been inside of her) and kissed me using her tongue. She also put her fingers in my mouth after they had been inside her, and was rubbing for a minute or so up against my exposed penis with only her thong covering her vagina.

I have noticed today that I have a very slight red mark on my penis which looks like an abrasion of sorts in the area that she was rubbing up against. It is very small and looks more like a tear than an sore of any kind. I might have caused the abrasion myself whilst sleeping or through masturbation. From what I can tell it does not seem to resemble any pictures of herpes or syphilis, but I would like an honest opinion as to whether I should be worried that it could be one of these diseases, or any other serious disease? As far as I am aware my penis never made direct contact with her vagina and her thong was on at all times, but I couldn't rule out that her thong might have slipped briefly due to the vigor of the rubbing during the lap dance.

I appreciate your help!

Welcome to our Forum. The interaction you describe did not put you at any risk for any STDs. STDs, including herpes, are not spread through the transfer of genital secretions on a person’s hands or fingers to another person's genitals or mouths. Similarly there is no risk for STD from kissing.  You have good alternate explanations for your genital irritation (abrasion).  I urge you not to worry and am please to tell you there is no need for testing related to this exposure either.  EWH

Thanks for the confirmation, I appreciate it very much. The abrasion has already healed and did not develop into anything which I would consider, from the pictures I have seen online, serious.
