Doubt about HSV 1

Doctor Hook said in this link talking about oral herpes
http://www.medhelp.org/posts/STDs/herpes----hpv-and-other-std-/show/1128876
If you have not developed any lesions at a site of exposure in the 10-14 days after your exposure , you have nothing to worry about and do not need testing or to be concerned.
Why in some other webpages says people could be asymtomacic? Does it means that everyone exposed will have the lesions in 14 days( no exceptions)? And later on, you could suffer  or not other episodes

This discussion is related to herpes  / hpv and other std .

Ka, I've had balantis for 3 months. Any irritation will flare it up. I'm circumcised and got it after taking antibiotics. What you describe sounds like balantis and anxiety. Keep your penis dry and apply the ointment as directed and try not to cause friction as it will irrate it. If you masterbate try using a lubricant and cleaning afterword

Hi Doctor,
2 weeks back I had sex with csw in India and condom was used but I am not sure about its quality, itching and pain was there from first day, on 3rd day I went to visit a urologist due to continuous itching ,pain on penis and itching on testicles and anus. he diagnosed mild balanitis as I have an uncircumcised penis. He gave me medicines and asked me to get regular urine and urine c&s test but reports were absolutely fine. After medicines I got relief but now as I masturbate and from 2-3 days I feel as if those symptoms are coming back.
Note- I also have constipation problem he told me anus itching could be because of that !

If am not wrong, what you are saying is that oral herpes is only transmitted in a kiss with romantic kisses, not by a casual kiss in adults.

But I continue not understanding this

As far as HSV-1 is concerned, any kiss can theoretically transmit such infections but transmission is a rare event. If you have not developed any lesions at a site of exposure in the 10-14 days after your exposure , you have nothing to worry about and do not need testing or to be concerned.

If it was not romantic rubbing kissing and she did not have any lip sores at the time i would not be worried at all as shedding doesnot occur that often. If it was light kissing then zero worry even with a lip sore. It needs to be rubbed into an area.

Is it true or not? If you do not develop symtoms after 14 days, do you have to worry or not?

Lets put it this way, yes you have nothing to worry about but in those cases where it is transmitted by kissing and you do contract herpes, the risk to passing it to someones genitals via oral sex is very real and is happening more these days. So genital hsv1 is and std.

What he said is that you have to develop symtoms after the kiss, talking about HSV 1 Oral Herpes. The bottom refers to stds in general . Oral Herpes HSV 1 is not a std

Hi, if you read to the bottom of the thread he says no one can say zero to anything and this goes for not showing symptoms of hsv1 but most people will show symptoms but that doesnot mean absolutly the person was not infected who are asymptomatic.
Another point to clarify that the word "asymptomatic" in the field of herpes terminology means a irritation did develop but was thought to be something else like a pimple. In greek the word herpes means the great imposter.
