Prostatitus ? STD ? HIV symptoms ?

Hi Edward W Hook, MD,

Sorry to post again but my original post has gone ?

I wrote to you about my exposure with a csw.

The intercourse/oral was protected. But the hand job was not and I also received a painful prostate massage (she had a glove on)

From this I developed prostatitus 2 days post exposure and was treated with doxy for 2 months and the symptoms went away.

The problem for me is that 2.5 weeks ago (2.5 months after exposure) I now have very bad fatigue, nausea, painful lymph nodes in the neck, arm and groin they are not swollen checked by dr. But the most painful thing has been burning feet and pins/needles hands for last 1.5 months.

All basic blood test have come back normal (no STD or HIV tests) as dr said not needed at this stage.

I feel so sick and a little lost as they now want to send me off to a nuerologist ? I just think with the prostatitus and these symptoms just a little to close to the exposure.

Could these be symptoms of an STD ?

Thanks

We don't expect a lot from questioners, but we do expect them to read and pay attention to our replies.  You could not possibly have acquired an STD from the sexual exposure you describe; prostatitis is not an STD; and you have no symptoms that suggest any other STD, and STDs are the only subject of this forum.  Accordingly, this forum has nothing more to offer you.  This thread is over.  If you attempt to extend it further, this thread, like your last one, will be deleted.  Also please note MedHelp's policy about a maximum of 2 questions every 6 months in the professionally moderated forums (see Terms and Conditions).  You may not post another question in this forum before next Februrary.

Also as the original post has gone the exposure was:

oral protected
vaginal intercourse protected
condem removed by csw as lost my erection
csw put me in sexual positions to try get my erection back, don't believe there was penatration but not 100% sure (drunk) this is what worries me.
Prostate massage rubbers glove for inserted finger, no condom for handjob in conjuction.

thanks for all your help, this is my last post

Hi Dr,

Visited the the dr again today as I still have the fatigue, neasea and painful lymph nodes (still not swollen but tender in the groin)
Also I am getting burning again in my penis tip right through to prostate and anus feels like it is on fire.

The doctor said that he is a little bit anoyed that the original dr just put me on doxy without identifying the problem as this could have resolved the issue but the infection might be comming back as he said prostate infections are hard to treat.

He is refering me to a urologist now.

Could it be possiable after 2 months on doxy my symtoms could be as a result of candinda ?

Also could all if the event be linked with cfs ?

The csw hit my prostate very hard during the prostate massage could this have caused some problem ?

Just worried they will just put me on doxy again with identifying the problem.

Thx

Hi thanks for the reply.

Someone tried to take over my other posting so the dr said he remove them. I didn't release this would remove my listing.

Just very frustrating trying to figure out what is going on.

As the fatigue, nausea and painful lymph (have become worse in the groin) are waking me up.

The burning feet really does not make much sense either.

Thanks

Just hard to move through this as I not one the suffers from stress or anxiety.

Dr. Hook and I take questions interchangably, without regard to sepcific requests for one of us or the other.  Our views and advice never vary significantly, due to our 3 decades working together -- even if our words and style are somewhat different.

You refer to a previous question with Dr. Hook, but this is the only thread that appears with "window77" as the username.  That usually means that the MedHelp moderator or administration deleted a thread because of some form of abuse of MedHelp priviledges, such as repeated anxiety-driven questions, use of multiple usernames, or other failure to adhere to the rules as described in Terms and Conditions.  Giving you the benefit of the doubt, I will respond as best I can to your questions -- but I suspect there is some risk that this thread also will be deleted.

As I'm sure Dr. Hook told you, it was impossible to acquire prostatitis from a hand job or from protected oral sex.  Prostatitis is not an STD anyway.  And 2 days is too soon for any STD to start to cause symptoms.  Your current symptoms do not suggest any STD, but they are typical of anxiety, depression, or a similar psychological problem -- you should discuss this possibility with your doctor.  It makes no sense to say you have "painful lymph nodes" if your doctor cannot find swollen lymph nodes on direct examination.

Bottom line:  You have no STD, including HIV, and you could not have caught anything from the sexual event you describe.  Something else explains your symptoms.  Follow your doctor's advice about what additional consultations or tests might be required.  This forum has nothing more to offer.
