Dr. HHH please- Worried!

Hello Doctor HHH,

8 weeks ago: sexual encounter with a guy I just met...unknown status. hand to penis unprotected, then hand to penis protected w/ condom, then mouth to penis protected. no other sex besides some mutal masturbation.

1.5 weeks later: feeling overall sick, muscle soreness, dry sweats, clammy
4 weeks later: stomach problems, throw up all night, dry sweats, clammy, soreness
5 weeks later: hemroid, clammy(light, cold sweat on forehead)
6 weeks later: stomach cramps, clammy feeling still
7 weeks later: stomach cramps (took HIV test; nonreactive) while at clinic I was given info on Hep B and notice I have those signs and noticed urine is darker than normal at times.
8 week later: stomach cramps, not as clammy.

tested nonreactive for HBV at 2 weeks post exposure w/ comprehensive blood test by doc. (not enough time to show up though I believe)

I had open sore in mouth as well. no fluids exchanged that i am aware of...just around uncircumsized penis head. my same hand also touched my vagina and was in my mouth. Ruled out HIV, but not Hep B. Please offer advice!

Thanks for the help!

Congrats. Oh i stumbled on your question by mistake while asking my question in the forum, and checked back to see your results today! I am so happy for you, you sound anxious despite your efforts at safty... like me... if you read my question you will see our similarity.  I always thought mutual masturbation and stimulation would be stressfree...but now I know like nothing is stressfree.. its just best to be safe all around...everything protected the L hand for you and the R hand for me or something like that to avoid any and all exchanges of fluids.  But that's just me.

Anyways CONGRADULATIONS!!!!!

Hepatitis B is sexually transmitted however it is becoming less and less common.  In addition, most people who get hepatitis B get over it and therefore, having gotten over it, can no longer transmit the infection to others.  Just on probabilities alone, your partner probably did not have hepatitis B.  Then, having engaged in safe exposures, you would not have gotten infected.  Your situation is safe in every respect.  As I said earlier, it is time to put this behind you.  EWH

You can get reassurance but the 2 Doctors on this forum would rather them answers these questions before we chime in. They will attest to this when they read this

No as you can tell from my post where is says, "See what the doctor says, but I bet this is close."  Sometimes people want some reassurance even if not from the doctor.  That is all this is.  Now, get an appointment with your eye docotr because if seems like you had difficulty reading the last line of the post.

I found this site (Hepatitis B Foundation) that states 1 in 20 people are exposed to HBV??
http://www.hepb.org/about/1in20/index.htm

Should this maybe taken with a grain of salt, given it is a promotional video to raise awareness and money?

Sorry, I am not discounting your advice, this website just freaked me out.

I got a test done yesterday and will post my results when I get them, they said 24 hours, so today hopefully!

Thanks, just have this tought the virus got on my hand from touching the tip of the penis, and then in mouth and/or in vagina. Never really worried until i read some websites that state how HBV is a common STD, and this person I believe is pretty sexaully active. Do you need lots of fluid or is the virus very active sitting at tip of penis...he was not circumsized either, does that matter?

Hi.  Your exposures were safe exposures.  Remember, mutual masterbation and genital contact witht the hands are virtually no risk exposures.  Your test for hepatitis B was performed too soon to be useful to you.  The average incubation time is about 2-3 months.   That said, hepatitis B is rare (less than 1% of the population has it) and the nature of your contact was low risk.   Your symptoms, while perhaps vaguely suggestive of hepatitis are unlikely to be due to that.  If you wish (I do not think it is necessary), get another hepatitis B test now, if it is negative, be comfortable that your exposure 8 weeks ago, while perhaps being anxiety provoking, did not give you an STD.

I hope this helps.  EWH

Hand to genitle nevers causes STD and the condom covered oral is safe- the risk is zero or just to be conservative so very tiny that you can forget about it.

Symptoms are not a good indicator of STD's.  The symptoms you have could be from a number of other illnesses.  See your health care provider if you are still worried.  If you have an STD it was not from this event.

See what the doctor says. but I bet this is close.
