Going Crazy need Answers to Oral Sex Questions

On 12/27/13 I had un protected oral sex, that last less than 5 minutes, I did not ejaculate, I stopped it. A few days later I felt a pain on the tip of my penis. Went to the doc about 2 weeks after incident. and he tested me for chlamydia,, syphhills, gonorrhea, and hiv-1 antibody and trich, all came back negative.  Still had the pain and sent me to a urologsts who examined my penis and said everything was good, gave me doxycycline just in case. Pain continued and went and got tested 2 months after exposure for 8 stds chlamydia, herpes 1, hepatitis b, syphhills gonorrhea, herpes 2, hepatitis c, and hiv-1 antibody all came back negative. Still had pains urologists then gave me metronidazole just in case, pain still lasted, went back to urologists and he gave me levofloxacin in case it was prostatitis, pain continued, I went and got tested for all 8 stds at the 2.5 month mark again all came back negative.
My questions is what do I have, the pain started at the tip of my penis and left after the first test for a few weeks. Pain came back and now I don’t know if its on the tip, in my head, or testicles, I also get a cold feeling in my urthea, and sometimes a liquid feeling coming out but nothing comes out. I also have gotten a sore throat within the last two weeks and a nurse friend said I had sore lymph nodes in my neck, doctor examined me and said no fever, slight red in throat and gave me guaiatussin and azithromycin. I feel like I need to throw up and have a little, diarrhea but the doctor said it could be because of the medicine. I am so scared that I have scheduled another STD test this month after 3 months but the clinic says I should be fine but I am so scared that I ruined my life. Should I get tested again, so I have an STD or even worse HIV, I don’t know what else to do my life is consumed.. my doctors say its in my mind.. and that im making myself crazy they even gave me a low dose valium but i don't know what else i can do … wat can I have/do.. help plz

It is impossible that these symptoms are due to any infection from the sexual exposure you have described.  Probably still all psychological, but conceivably a yeast infection or other reaction to all those antibiotics. I see no need for any further STD testing.

This thread is now closed to new comments.  I will have nothing more to say.

Thank you again for getting back to me. I understand and I guess I will meet with the doctor again. What has me worried is that for two morning now I've had pain (not great) in my penis (head) area and I don't remember having those as often or at all, I just urinated and it burned a little. Could I still have something , should I go through with my testing, could it be the medicine, it's just when I feel I get an answer something new happens

Sorry, but we deal strictly with STDs.  I have no advice about managing anxiety or other psychologiclal issues.  The best I can recommend is that you return to your doctor for further advice about it.

First off thank you for writing back, I kept checking the forum to get a better chance to sleep because this is just eating me alive.

i started thinking i had hiv because of the symptoms and i saw i had a blemish on my face and started freaking out more. it just seemed weird that all these pains and issues happened after this.

is there anything you recommend to help me relax because today at work i really felt like the warm feeling of something oozing out but again nothin and just a slight burn or itch, its just eating me alive, to the point where i tell myself i should test myself every month for the rest of the year... its literally eating me alive

Welcome to the forum.  Thanks for your question.

Oral sex is safe sex -- not completely free of STD risk, but all STDs are uncommon and some never occur after such an exposure.  In any case, with the negative tests and examinations you have had, plus the antibiotic treatment, there is no chance any STD explains your continuing symptoms.  Between doxy, metronidazole, and levofloxacin, there simply is no STD that could possibly be continuing and responsible for the symptoms you describe.   And your symptoms aren't really typical for any STD anyway, or for any infection from your sexual exposure.

They are, however, very typical for genitally focused anxiety -- that is, your fears for STD (and perhaps guilt about the sexual exposure itself) making you more sensitive to trivial symptoms or to normal body sensations that you otherwise would not notice.  And those symptoms also are pretty much identical to those of prostatitis.

In other words, the reason your symptoms are not clearing up following all those antibiotics is NOT because you have an infection they aren't curing.  It is because you have no infection at all, therefore antibiotics cannot help.

To put it another way, I agree exaclty with your doctors:  this almost certainly is a psychological issue, not a medical one.  You can be 100% certain you have nothing that will ever harm you or a current or future sex partner.  Once you come to understand that (emotionally as well as intellectually), the symptoms probably will fade away.

I hope this has helped.  Best wishes--  HHH, MD
