Tiny bumps on glans

Thank you in advance for your guidance as well as for your forum.I have been been dealing with what I consider high anxiety over possible warts on my penis, glans.I delt with this same anxiety back in 2005 when I first posted a question with you.I resloved this issue(which was nothing).Well, the anxiety is back after separating from my GF 6 mnths ago.For some reason this triggers my anxiety and gives me the time to examine myself hours a day thinking I have something....for no apparent reason. With my examining over the months since( I know this is not good and that is why I am here), I have found by streching the top of my glans all over, that there are multiple tiny circular (smaller than a pin tip) dots that look white almost under a light. These are very hard to see and and are barely raised. They almost look as a follicle would, very VERY small, and have to be looked at very closely to see. They are not really clustered up on each other and cant really be felt with a finger tip. My first thought were papules or something like a skin tag or spine, however I have read that they are typically only around the rim, as these are above the rim on the head.I only notice them when streching the skin and looking under light very closely as I said, and there are maybe 20 of them, majority of them the same size, some smaller than others. one spot appears to have them lined hoizontally across in a short line, and the rest aappear to be randomly scattered.I am circumcised if this helps, and I have been with two partners over the last 6 yrs that have to my knowledge have been free of anything. After internet research (which as overwhelmingly increased my anxiety), have have not been able identifiy what this might be.It seems it could be any of the typical bumps. Is the glans to be smooth or are there skin varients and such like this that are common, or could these be very small warts?I will see a doc again if my anxiety continues, however I hope they can see them. Thx again.

Welcome to the Forum.  In preparing to address your question I have reviewed your earlier interactions.  I will try to help but if my comments do not alleviate your concerns, my guess is that your best answer will come from another visit to the dermatologist for direct visual inspection of the area of concern.

Sometimes too much self examination is not a good thing.  I suspect this is what is going on with you.  It is important to emphasize that normal skin is not smooth but has many small bumps, craters and creases which are visible with close inspection.  In particular the glans has many such bumps.  The most obvious of such lesions are things called "pearly penile papules" but there are many other smaller, normally occurring bumps.

There is no reason to worry that what you describe are genital warts, herpes or any other STD.  What you describe does not sound like any typical STD.

A final piece of advice if I might.  Please do not search the internet about these things.  I suspect that like that of many of our clients, your situations represents a great example of the power of the internet not only to inform but also to mislead.  While there is much useful information available on the internet, much of it is also taken out of context or a bit unbalanced and some of it is just plain wrong.

Take care. EWH

I might add, that I believe these have been there for quite some time, possibly a few years when I noticed them. Thanks again.
