oral and stds

morning dr, I had a unprotected oral experience two weeks ago with a gay man, I am a male, since then I have had no symptoms, I did take azithromycin and cefixime a week after exposure to maybe ensure that if I did catch anything it may eradicate the issue
I drank beer about 30 hrs after I took the medication
1. I have read that I don't need retesting for hiv, I had tested neg in dec, do you recommend retesting for this exposure
2. do I need testing for stds, would the medication I took eradicate any exposure I had to gonarrea, syphilis and other stds
3. I deep kissed the man too, does this have any bearing
4. I received oral for about 10 seconds this morning from my reg partner, I stopped as I was nervous, would my partner have received any potential std I have from this short exposure
5. my chest was red yesterday but gone now, also my face is red, its not unusual for it to be this way as I am always stressed

sorry for all the questions

sorry last one, If I had syphilis from a previous exposure, which are not that many, would cefixime and azithyromicin cure that exposure too

kind regards

Sorry and thanks for the correction.  The same holds for cefixime however.

I see no need or HIV testing. there are no data to suggest that HIV has ever been acquired from receipt of oral sex. EWH

Yes, both the ceftriaxone and the azithromycin are active against syphilis.  Had you been exposed, these drugs would have prevented it.  EWH

Welcome to our Forum.  I'll be glad to comment on your situation.  Before I do however, I would like to counsel you that your decision to take cefixime and azithromycin and then ask questions is backwards.  These antibiotics would be effective against nearly all bacterial STIs including gonorrhea, chlamydia, NGU, and for syphilis prevention however they will also just confuse further assessment.

Your exposure was low risk at most.  I will answer your questions in order.
1.  It is not clear from your post whether you gave or received oral sex.  There is no known risk fro receipt of oral sex, even ifyour partner  had HIV.  If you performed oral sex on him, there may be a tiny risk for HIV, certainly less than 1 in 10,000 if he was infected.

2.  No, I see no benefit from testing, given your ingestion of antibiotics.

3.  STIs are not transmitted by kissing.

4.  No, your partner is not at meaningful risk.

5.that your chest is red is not a sign of Any STI, including HIV.

I hope these comments are helpful.  Take care.  EWH
