Bump on upper groin

I have a single bump on my upper thigh groin area.  I have had the bump for about three weeks now.  It goes and comes as it pleases in the same area the same spot exactly. It is less than the size of a dime.  At times it seems to have pus in it.  Im not experiencing any itching or burning in area or burning during urination it doesn't hurt at all its just uncomfortable because in my mind i know its there.  I wanted to know what the bump could be caused by and is it a std that i should be worried about and if so what could it be?

Absolutely not.  No chance.  Herpes doesn't behave anything like you describe.

Both the location and your description are atypical for any STD.  Since "at times it seems to have pus in it", most likely it is a pimple, folliculitis, infected cyst, or something along those lines.  See a health care provider if it persists or continues to bother you, but don't worry about STDs.
