Problem or Coincidence

The first week in April I had unprotected oral sex, about five minutes giving and receiving from a young lady. Then we had protected sex until the condom came off and I proceeded to thrust into her 3 or 4 more times before putting another condom on. 3 days later I unprotected vaginal sex with my girlfriend. Later that week she complained of lower abdominal and pelvic pain since then. She had a IUD inserted in April of 2012 and the last time a full period was last Nov. The 1 st young lady said she had a negative pap smear in Dec. 2012 and hasn't been with anyone since last year. I have no symptoms besides anxiety. However I did pick up a sore throat about 2 weeks after giving my girlfriend(the second young lady) oral...Is this a problem or coincidence?

The presence of an IUD may slightly increase her risk for PID, if exposed.

The issue is not what might be there but the issue of possible conquences.  As I said earlier, while he likelyhood that this is related to your sex with another partner is low, one would not like to take the chance.  EWH

IS THE PELVIC INFLAMMATORY DISEASE FROM HAVING UNPROTECTED SEX OR COULD BE FROM A IUD COMPLICATION?

Welcome to our Forum.  I'll be please to comment.  Although it is more likely than not that this is all just coincidence, your sex with your other partner, while brief, was unprotected.  Although the risk for infection is low, that and your regular GF's symptoms shortly after the exposure warrant evaluation.  As you probably know it is more likely than not that your casual partner was not infected and even if she was, given the brevity of your exposure, it is unlikely that you were infected or that you then went on to infect your regular GF.  Nonetheless, your GF's lower abdominal and pelvic pain could be pelvic inflammatory disease.  It is good that your GF is being checked.  It may also be worthwhile for you to be tested and for you to suggest that your other partner be checked.  Better to be safe than sorry.  EWH
