Have Strange Itching/Hives along with slight Pain in the shaft of my penis,

Dear DR , i really need your help, no answer from my family Dr, 2 Urologists and 2 Dermatologists.

I am 32 years old Sexually Active male, smoker.

On February 2007 my EX came back from South America and we had Protected Sex and unprotected Oral, 1-3 weeks after I began to have these red patches all over my body which at the end were diagnosed as Pityriasis Rosea,  along with patches i had some burning urinating sensation and penile discharge (two three time all together)...  The symptoms above WENT AWAY in 3 month, after which i began to have the following symptoms which have been following me till this day.

I get these very small bumps on my upper legs and sometimes arms that are itchy and sometimes my anus itches as well specially when i wake up in the morning, and MOST IMPORTANTLY when these symptoms are happening there is absolutely no blood  flow in my penis, with a strange slight pain in the shaft. I am able to have an erection but it is allot less stronger, comparing when these symptoms  are not around. Symptoms usually last for 2-3 days and come back 5-7 days later. The more i get these symptoms the  more i think i have contracted some kind of virus and when my body is trying to fight it , its producing antibodies which could explain the itching and extreme lack of blood flow in my penis when my body reacts to it.

Test history:
Blood test: 03/072007
HSV1: > 5.0H
HSV2:  3.81H
Chlamydia:  5.00H
HSV2: 0.53 (negative)

Female Version of Pep Smear 7/17/2008
All Std Negative

I am on a second month of Doxycyline and for a month the symptoms went away and just came back again.

1. Is this a symptoms of POST Pityriasis Rosea Or STD ?
3. Dermatologist told me i have eczema on my legs, could that be it?
4. Could this be some kind of Allergies?
5. WHAT WOULD BE THE RIGHT TEST FOR ME TO TAKE SO I CAN FIND OUT WHY AM I HAVING THESE SYMPTOMS ?

PLEASE HELP ME.

I saw all these additional comments before I responded above, and took them into account.

Sorry, this forum really cannot help you.  If 5 doctors, including your PCP, 2 urologists, and 2 dermatologists cannot come up with a clear diagnosis or otherwise satsify you, there is no way a distant online expert can help.  Your symptoms don't suggest any STD.

You give conflicting HSV-2 results, one with an ELISA value of 3.81 (positive) but also say that HSV-2 was negative.  If you have HSV-2, it does not explain any of the symptoms you describe.  Chlamydia blood tests are useless;the "chlamydia 5.00H" doesn't mean anything, except you might have been infected with chlamydia in the past.  In the chance your infection was recent, it also had nothing to do with your symptoms; and the doxycycline treatment would have cleared it up.

You don't mention a syphilis blood test.  The skin rash of secondary syphilis and pityriasis can easily be confused, but doxycycline in the dose you took cures syphilis, so syphilis is not a possible explanation for your problems and none of the symptoms other than skin rash suggests syphilis.

To the specific questions:  You have no STD.  If a dermatologist says it's eczema on your legs, probably it is; I have no way of knowing.  As to other possibilities, this forum is limited to STD issues and I have no opinion.

Much of what you describe sounds psychological.  If not done, you should discuss this possibility with your primary care provider.  I suggest it out of compassion, not criticism.  In any case, you can put STDs aside.  Your problems have nothing to do with any STD or with anything you caught from any sex partner.

Regards--  HHH, MD
