STD concern from oral and hand

Hello Doctor,

Thank you for your expert opinions on this forum.

Two weeks ago I had an encounter with a CSW where I received protected oral sex with a condom on for about 5-7 minutes. Then she proceeded to remove the condom and put baby oil on her hands from a bottle and rubbed the oil all over my erect penis and masturbated me with her hands until I finished orgasm. The hand job was unprotected and she did not wipe or wash her hands so there could have been her saliva on her hands.

I have had some discomfort in my penis since then, and also with the feeling that I must urinate frequently. There is no pain during urination. There is no discharge from the penis.

Could this be an STD?  What are my risks for STDs from this encounter? What should I get tested for?

Welcome to the forum.

Questions like this are extremely common.  Within the past week, I probably have answered at least 5-6 questions about risk-free or very low risk exposures, such as oral sex or hand jobs, followed by such urinary symptoms as increased frequency, urgency, and sometimes discomfort in the urethra.  You should be able to quickly find several such questions and our replies bu simply scanning the forum for a few minutes.

And the answers are always the same.  Oral sex carries little STD risk, even without a condom; with a condom, there is no risk at all; STDs are extemely rarely transmitted by hand-genital contact -- the risk is low enough that it can be considered zero for all STDs.  And finally, symptoms like yours usually are due to genitally focused anxiety, i.e. heightened awareness of trivial symptoms or normal body sensations, as a result of anxiety, shame, or regret over a sexual encounter.

Your negative gonorrhea and chlamydia tests (mentioned below) are additional strong evideence -- and those tests were done sufficiently long after the exposure to be completely reliable.  NGU doesn't cause the sorts of symptoms you have, and for sure could not have been acquired from the exposure you have described.

If your symptoms continue, you should see a doctor or clinic for the reassurance that would come from professional evaluation.  But I am confident nothing would be found on examination and that any additional test results would remain negative.  You can safely continue unprotected sex with your wife; that's what I would do if I were in your circumstance.

One thing to add is I did have Chlamydia and Gonorrhea tests 4 days after the incident via urine sample and these tests were negative.

However what about other STDs including NGU and any other STDs?
