Dr Handsfield
Thank you for your help.
I don't understand what isn't clear, but here it is with different wording.
You could not have caught any STD from the events described above. Of course I have no way of knowing what infections you might carry from other, past sexual encounters. But if this is your only potential exposure, you can be 100% certain you don't have anything you can transmit to a new partner, or to your regular partner if you have one.
Thank you for your reply Dr Handsfield. You answer was well received. However the last sentence of your reply has me confused "you can safely continue unprotected sex with no fear of transmitting anything you caught from this other encounter."
Welcome to the forum.
The bacteria and viruses causing STDs evolved in a way that requires insertive sex -- a penis inside another person's vagina, rectum or (less commonly) mouth. Once in a while, these infections can be transmitted by genital apposition, i.e. direct contact between genitals, without penetration, but this is rare. For sure no STD can be transmitted through clothing, by kissing, or by contact with skin (e.g. breasts) or by hand-genital contact.
So the answer is no, this event does not warrant testing for any STD. If you have a regular partner, you can safely continue unprotected sex with no fear of transmitting anything you caught from this other encounter.
Best wishes-- HHH, MD
