Herpes? stange symptoms.

Last time I had sex with someone was in early December. Immediately after I had sex with her I had this itch all over my scrotum. It has been like this for almost a little more than 5 months now.
I had nothing visible for about four months, just an itch.

And about three weeks ago I noticed a cluster that looks like the ones in the herpes photos. It is under my penis not on the head but next to the little skin where it looks stitched. They are VERY tiny about 10 tiny bumps and hard to see if my penis is not dry. The place where they are at is not very reddish. They've been there unchanged for these past three weeks.

About a week ago I went to the doctor for a general checkup I only told him that I had a itch all over my groin area he gave it a wince not even a close look and said it was a fungus and prescribed me cromatizole for the jock itch. I also paid for a blood and urine test nothing STD specific (I came up healthy).

I've used the cream for two weeks now and I haven't gotten any better the itch has gotten worse actually. But I’ve been told that fungus takes a while to heal. Also I've noticed a really fishy smell. that's been there for like 2 months. The itch sometimes gets around my anus or on my butt cheek. But the main itch/burn is around the base of the penis in my scrotum. Sometimes my penis head itches too where that cluster is. But mainly its just like a burn all over my groin area. And when it feels like it it itches in one little spot.

What do you think? Is that tiny little cluster really supposed to be there that long ?

Some fungus infections are resistant to clotrimazole. but I can't say that's what you have.  Lots of other things could cause similar symptoms.  You're going to need to rely on your doctor's advice.  Whatever you have, it isn't herpes and it isn't serious.

Do you think it could be a fungus and somehow I'm not reacting to the clotrimazole? I'm going to the doctor tomorrow this really burns. I stopped using it for a day.

I went ahead and answered the same question on the HIV forum as well, before realizing it was the same.  You can use the contact link to ask MedHelp administration to refund one of your $15 fees.  (No guarantee; it's up to them, not me.)

This doesn't sound at all like herpes.  Regardless of the apparent similarity compared with the HSV photos you found, genital herpes simply does not cause skin lesions that "...are VERY tiny about 10 tiny bumps and hard to see if my penis is not dry."  And none of your other symptoms suggest herpes either.  And herpes lesions always heal within 1-2 weeks.

Since you don't say you have seen a health care provider, I assume you have not done so.  That's your next step.  In the meantime, don't put any creams or other medications on the penile area, scrotum, etc.

Good luck--  HHH, MD
