High Risk Dysplasia

Hi Dr. Handsfield,
my wife has been diagnosed with high risk dysplasia and has just had some biopsy work done, pending results. We have been married for 25 yrs and neither have had other partners. Is the HPV potentially dormant is either of our systems for this length of time or could there be another cause?
Thanks

When you say no other partners, does this also mean no oral sex? no fingering?  no deep kissing?  There have been virgins diagnosed with HPV.

The odds of it being from your/her past are very low but not zero. The odds are much better that it is from a recent sex encounter. Assume you have what she has. Sorry.
