Need Help

Hello Doctor....I just got back from the health care center as i had what doctor diagnosed as warts on my palm and a swollen gland on my left ankle (size of pea). i was so scared because i knew that these are some of the symptoms of HIV and i had unprotected vaginal sex with a prostitute. I rushed to lab center and got myself tested. Test came negetive but i got the test done after a possible exposure of 4 months. You think i should be worried and get re-tested at 6 months. Please Help.

No, tinnitis is an ear problem which does not reflect abnormality of the immune system.  EWH

Thank You for the reply doctor. Really appreciate your answer. Just for my knowledge could you tell me if Tinnitus is part of compromised immune system. I have been suffering from Tinnitus for last three years and was wondering if that would increase my window period in HIV testing? Thanks again.

You are over-reacting.  For starters the type of HPV that causes warts occurring on the hands almost never a genital wart virus type.  Secondly, if your concern is a single exposure to a CSW and you now have a negative HIV test at 4 four months, you have NO risk whatsoever.  Forget about these concerns - no re-testing is needed.  EWH
