Near Constant Urethritis, Irritated Meatus & More
Gents,
I have another thread running with Terri in the Herpes forum, if you dont mind I would like to get your insight re my malady.
I received (protected vaginal, hazy on the oral protected inc rimming) and gave unprotected oral to a CSW on July 27th. Never had an apparent coldsore.
Aug 5th-9th Sore throat with white patches, swollen throat glands, urethritis every day, worse as day goes on. Sore coccyx every few days, Spleen Pain for a few days to the point I could not sleep on side, tingling and general warmth in pelvic area. Testicles feel full. I also develop symptoms of oral herpes, full lips, sores in nose, tingling but don’t and havent yet had a typical outbreak
Aug 20th a single sore appeared on anus, co incided with a bout of diareaha and a feeling of fullness in anus. Meatus becomes red and irritated.
Aug 24th went to a private clinc full STD and PCR test of sore which I have no doubt was well burst at this stage.
Aug 25th went to a walk in STD clinic in a leading teaching hospital and met Dept Professor who said that this was not a Herpes lesion, did another PCR and full screen (no IGG), all negative
Mid September met my GP and another STD doc all say no Herpes. I do periodically have a raised 3mm redder patch on the Meatus, treated with Canesten, no improvment.
Roll on until now and I still have daily urehthral pain (worse after cumming), an irritated meatus, itching in anus and meatus, testicle pain on and off and a sore coccyx every few days. All without the presence of Herpes Blisters on my Penis or a reoccurance on my Anus.
Now on Tarvid, Difulac every second day and Canesten with no improvment.
Had IGG bloods done 23rd Sept , await results.
My doctor says Yeast infection, the STD doc reckons the Meatus patch looks like Thrush and spots on my buttocks folliculitus.
Here is the issue, I understandably dont want to have constant Urethritis, I also dont want to cross infect my wife or young children with Herpes. What are your thoughts?

As we already discussed, your symptoms do not suggest herpes. Do not get hung up on lists of herpes symptoms that include neuralgia type problems. Such symptoms accompany or precede herpes outbreaks that would cause obvious blisters/sores. Occurring alone, and persisting so long, excludes HSV as a cause. They are unrelated to your positive HSV-1 result.
You need to work to get your mind off its laser-beam obsession with herpes. It is not your problem, period.

Welcome to the forum. But unfortunately, I cannot help very much.
You have seen at least 3 STD specialists, and they and your GP all are in agreement your symptoms are not caused by herpes or any other STD. When repeated personal medical assesment has not come up with clear answers, it is very unlikely that this or any other distant online source can resolve the problem. At this point, I will stress that you describe an exposure that carried little or no risk, and your symptoms are not typical for any known STD. Herpes in particular is not a realistic concern.
You have nothing that will ever harm you or that could harm your wife or children. You should resume unprotected sex with your wife; you have nothing you can transmit to her.

Once more thanks for considering my situation.
I have waitied until the results of the IGG test (at 8 weeks) before posting again, I continue to be troubled by on going symptoms, in the back of my mind all is not well, I would like your opinion on my situation once more.
Some symptoms remain, they are a Urethritis, this has reduced both in intensity and duration from daily to a number of times througout the day. My meatus continues to be red and irritated every day, diameter of a dime at the tip with a 3mm raised redder patch, this is despite a rigrous three week treatment program for both Balanitis and Prostatis ( Tarvid, Ofloxacin 9 days, Canesten 14 days, Diflucan Tablet 6 days).
I have tingling in my anus, buttocks and back of my thighs from time to time, even as recently as today. I also have a sharp pain in my testicles for a half hour or so a couple of times a week.
On a positive note I have not had any sores, ulcers or lesions subsequent to the single one I had on my anus back in August.
My IGG results are positive for HSV1 and negative for HSV2, tested at 8 weeks. There is no follow up either scheduled or recommended by the GUI clinic.
As there have been no further lesions to culture, do you think the tingling, urethal pain and irritated meatus are a consequesnce of a Neuralgia related to HSV1 G?
Moving forward I want to get back to normal and clear up the issues of urethritis and irritated meatus, what do think the best course of action is now?
