This still doesn't sound like any STD, and I doubt it is related in any way to the oral sex event -- just a coincidence. Continue to work with your public health clinic provider if you remain uncertain, or ask for referral to someone else for a second opinion.
Just to clarify. What I mean about a dark ring around penis. I mean that it is dark around the edge of the penis head where the foreskin ends when the penis is erect. It never had that before.
They did not really tell me nothing about the dark ring. They just told me that it looks normal and that the smell is probably caused by a reaction to something. That is why I feel I should go back.
Well maybe it was for more than 10 seconds not sure but I am positive it was less then 1-2 min and she only did it at the very tip of the penis. It is just concerning that I am having this problem 2-3 days after this happened
I am uncircumcised. I have been washing the area pretty often. but the odor just does not go away. I also been adding anti-fungal medication to see if it helps eliminating the odor.
As far as the dark ring. It is around the penis head on the edge of the penis head. Its not a ring per say but it is around the edge of the penis head. Well I hope is nothing serious such as herpes of warts.
So you have already been to an STD clinic. What were you told about the "dark ring"? Was urethritis diagnosed? Were you given an antibiotic?
Chlamydia isn't the problem here. It probably would not cause any odor, and chlamydia is not caught from oral sex, only by unprotected vaginal or anal intercourse.
If the problem persists, return to the clinic for additional evaluation.
Such brief exposure is unlikely to result in STD transmission; even with more prolonged exposure, oral sex is mostly safe sex and STDs are uncommon. I don't know what to make of a "dark ring" around the head of the penis; no STD causes such a thing.
As for odor, are you uncircumcised? Or do you have any pus coming from the penis? Penile odor is primarily a problem in uncircumcised men and can be caused by a skin infection under the foreskin, or just from poor hygiene. Or it might result from some cases of urethritis, of which gonorrhea is one cause that could be acquired by oral sex. But gonorrhea doesn't generally cause any odor; no STD does that, at least not in any case I have ever seen.
See a health care provider about it -- either your own doctor or your local health department STD clinic. I doubt any STD will be found. But in the meantime, don't worry too much. Whatever is the cause, it certainly can be easily treated and cured.
Good luck-- HHH, MD
I also want to add that I went to the clinic monday. The clinician did not really think it was an STD. I did the test for chlamydia. However, I think I should go back because this just doesnt seem normal. When I go back to the clinic I am probably also going to test for gonorrhea.
