No discharge - Gonorrhea possible?

Hi,
I recently had an encounter with a sexworker in Taiwan in which I received unprotected oral sex from her. Two days later, the tip of my penis started to burn slightly, later on the burning moved down to the urethra. The sensation came and go but I did not have any burning while peeing. A friend recommended to use Zithromax 250 just in case which I did: first day 4 tablets, second day, 2 tablets.
Two days later, I had no more burning but instead felt discomfort (not a real pain) in my testicles and they were swollen so I went to see a doctor here in Thailand. As I don't have any discharge, he said he cannot test on Gonorrhea. He also think it could be all kind of infection so he gave me Clavam 1000 (Amoxicillin) for 8 days (2 times a day). Now, I'm taking it the third day and the testicles are still swollen most of the day and I have a discomforting feeling in my groin. The tip of my penis is still as dry as it can be, no sign of any discharge.
Do you think it could be Gonorrhea and if so, is Clavam the right medication? Shouldn't the symptons be gone on day three if the antibiotics are effective? I'm a bit concerned about all these reports saying Gonorrhea became resistant to antibiotics. If you don't think it's Gonorrhea, what else could it be?
Thanks in advance for your support!

The antibiotics you are now taking are a bit more appropriate for an STI than what you were taking to start with.  Your having self-medicated will make any assessment difficult.

Your decision about resuming sex should wait intil you see if the current therapy makes a difference in your symptoms.  At that time you should discuss this with your doctor.  EWH

Dear Dr. Hook,
Thank you for your first evaluation. My testicles are still slightly swollen, somtimes it burns again a bit in the urethra but it definitely didn't get worse.
I followed your advice and went to see another doctor who has a good reputation here. He said, I should stop taking amoxicillin but take Siadocin 100 (doxycycline) and Tarivid Tab 200 (oflaxacin) instead. I should take these for 10 days and can expect the symptoms to be gone by 7 days. His opinion is, it might be Chlamydia where the bacteria moved from the urethra to the testicles or another infection. He thinks Gonorrhea is unlikely but states that the antibiotics he gave me would also address Gonorrhea in case.
I asked him to do a test and he said it doesn't make sense in his opinion as it would not give a reliable result.
What do you think. Am I better off with the new medicine?
I asked him as well when I could have sex again and he said it should be safe two to three days after I started the new antibiotics. Do you agree with him?
Thank you very much for your kind help.

Welcome to the Forum.  I think you need to see another doctor.  You have been given much mis-information.  It would be surprising if you have gonorrhea as over 95% of gonorrhea is accompanied by discharge from the penis or burning on urination but asymptomatic infections can occur.

Nonetheless, persons without symptoms can have gonorrhea and tests can be done in persons who do not have discharge. Further, the medicine the he gave you, amoxicillin, has not been recommended for gonorrhea treatment for over 25 years.  Currently recommended therapy for gonorrhea is a single injection of ceftriaxone.

Your problem does not sound like an STI but again, I suggest you see another doctor.  The fact that you have now taken several different antibiotics will make evaluation a bit more complicated but I still be4lieve you should be evaluated again.  EWH
