Pain in Penis

About 2 - 2.5 mos i had unprotected vaginal sex.  not that it matters, but the sex only lasted about 20-30 sec.
4 days ago i started experiencing tingling, burning in the uretha of my penis.  i also had freq to urinate.

i went into the clinic.  i got most of the results, no chlamydia, syph, ghonoerria etc.....  still waiting and am panicked about herpes.

i have no other signs of herpes.  there are no blisters, blimishes, fatigue, fever etc....   only the burning, tingling in my uretha.

how worried should i be?  is it common to have a herpes outbreak take place soley in the penile uretha?  thank you

I am not sure what the origin of your urethral burning is.  It would be most unusual for herpes (or any other STD for that matter) to have its first symptomatic presentation in the urethra without other vesicles or lesions.  Thus both the timing and the symptom constellation are wrong for herpes.  Thus, while I cannot suggest what might be wrong, I can assure you that it is almost certainly not herpes.  What did the people who did your testing say?  If they did not comment, my suggestion would be to return to them and ask their opinion.  They have had the opportunity to evaluate you and in situations like this that can be quite important in osrting out problems such as these.  EWH

I am confident the the blood blister on your chest is not related to to the pain you are having with urination.

AS for your question about herpes, I am not sure what you mean by "dormant".When a person has herpes they tend to have periodic clinical recurrences which can cause episodes in which lesions occur, sometimes but not always in association with discomfort or pain.  When there are not clinical recurrences, some of the time (current estimates are about 10%) the virus can be present on skin without any evidence whatsoever.  This is called asymptomatic shedding and accounts for much of herpes transmission (although not all or even most exposures lead to transmission).  If the virus is present, either in association with a clinical recurrence or as asymptomatic shedding, a swab test (culture or PCR) can be positive.  The blood test, once positive is essentially positive from the time it becomes positive onward.   Hope this helps.  EWH

Thank you again.  I have recieved my results for gonorrhea and chlamydia, they were both negative.
now just waiting on the herpes results.  my only symptom remains some tingling/burning sensation in the uretha.  i saw what looked like a blood blister on my chest but can not imagine that it is related.

i am praying.....

The doctors hould have done the gonorrhea and chlamydia test.  They can occur without a discharge.

Timing - mos therpes appears within a week of expsoure, sometimes out to 21 days.  For your symptoms to occur months tells us that this is not related.  EWH

The original Dr i saw at an urgent care facility went through all std testing.  b/c i had no discharge, he threw out chlamydia and ghnorria.  He said if anything, it is herpes.

therefore i have been crazed and researching herpes on the web.  pain in the uretha seems to be a sympton, therefore i have been researching.

Again, it is only in the uretha, while i pee.  No marks, blisters or any other symptons anywhere?

also, you mentioned the timing was off?  THANK YOU!!
