Please send qualified insight. Very concerned.

one year ago i had a few night sweats, nausea 1 or 2 times, appetite loss. within 2 weeks after "middle risk" exposure vacationing in mexico. a few months later i got a big cold sore on my lip lasting about a week. the morning after my exposure i felt a tingling on that spot of my lip. i was already HSV1 positive. could my lip been an infection with HSV-2?is it possible to have both?does HSV-2 onset have these similar symptoms to these?i ask is because my symptoms seem MUCH more mild than most of what i have read for hiv. i did not have a rash, no sores, no sore throat. maybe a mild cough. about 4 or 5 months later i got 1 or 2 dime sized psoriasis patches in new places. i have a history of these, but usually in the same spots. ALSO consider i could have LUPUS with symptoms my whole life exacerbated by birth control, sun exposure, stress and menstruation.i want to believe that the lupus + excessive sun exposure could have been the cause of the symptoms? i am waiting for my results. my brain is in overdrive and i cannot function. its been a whole year. why did i wait...because i THOUGHT a test had been done at month 3. after requesting those results to examine from a LUPUS perspective i realized it had not been tested, despite my request along with other STDs. it has been a hard year. exactly a year since the event. at month 8 i had a mild chiro visit that left me bed ridden, possibly due to spinal inflamation of sorts? at month 9 i started birth control,YAZ, that i found to be completely debilitating.within the 4 months taking YAZ, i began having HSV1 genital outbreaks  extreme exhaustion, physical weakness, . LASTLY, just recently, i have had nearly 1 month of bowel issues. FIRST constipation for 3 weeks. THEN diarrhea. even that seems to not want to come out. it is skinny and yellowish. possibly inflammatory bowel? i have discontinued the YAZ. could you give me your impression. anything you can say will help me while i wait for results.

As you acknowledge, you mind is working in overdrive.  I think in relationship to the lesion/sore that you noted on your lip following return from your vacation.  You also mention several other processes which could also be the explanation for this lesion:  Possibilities include:
1.  You state that you already have HSV-1.  Indeed from time to time, sometimes for reasons we can identify (stress, medications, sun exposure, etc) cold sores can be worse than others.
2. Lupus.  One of the classical manifestation of lupus is facial rash.  Could t his be part of the problems
3.  Psoriasis.  Psoriasis lesions can look very much like cold sores.  They are uncommon on the face but do occur there.

What I can also say is that the chances of you having HIV from a single exposure, irrespective of risk, is far lower than that you have one of the possibilities above.
Similarly, this would be a most unusual manifestation of HSV-2.  I am confident from what you describe that your HIV test results will be negative.  Please let us know when you get hte results.

Hope these comments help.  EWH
