Please, your expert opinion on this wierd year

I had condom protected vaginal and oral sex w/ high cost call girl (CSW) in Chicago on 04/29/2008 along w/ 2 other friends.  We were all protected and they have had no issues.  I tested for Gon, Chlamydia, HSV 1 and 2, Syphillis, HIV, Hep A, B, and C. and all came back NEGATIVE other than HSV 1 and 2 on 05/07/2009.  HVS 2 Showed IGG 2.74. On 05/05/08, I took Z-pak, 500Mg of Azithromacin first day, and 250MG for following 4 days for an unrelated sore throte.  On 05/20/2008, I started taking Biaxin and Flagyl for 14 days to treat stomach issue.  On 05/30/2008, I retested for only Genital herpes and it came back NEGATIVE. I took another Z-Pak again on 02/15/2009, this time I took 1000Mg first day, and 500mg 4 days after.  I had a Fosfocil shot on 03/15/2009, and I took 500-1000mg of Ampicilina for 1 week starting 04/01/2009 because of a really bad sore throat and cold..   Here are my questions.

I had mild burning last year, and my doctor saw me for it, but said that it was nothing.  Now, a year later, I am getting significant burning.  I have never had any type of discharge, and my wife and I have been having sex all year and she has not had any sympotoms of anything.

1 If I did have anything bacterial, would the antibiotic I took clear that up?
2 Should I re-test for any STD again?
3 Can I continue my life without a worry?
4 I have never had any type of lesions, I figured HSV low positive may have been a false, and I think I do not have HSV 2, is that right?
5 Since I do have the burning, and very cold tip of penis, what do you suggest I do?.

Thanks for the additional information; it would have been good to include it in your question.

You do not have HSV-2 or any other STD.  Period.  You need to completely drop any consideration of any STD as an explanation for your symptoms. They are not related to the sexual encounter a year ago, unless they are due to anxiety over the event.

That's all for this thread.  Any new threads this, on either this or the HIV prevention forum, will be deleted without response and without refund of the posting fee.

I actually in fact  Retested for HSV 1 and again.  HSV1 came back positive @  IGG 5.23, HSV 2 was Negative, but no numerical value was given.  I had submitted to the testing about 2 weeks ago, and yesterday afternoon my Dr called and gave the results.  I appreciate your response.  I am going in for follow-up today.  You mention I do not have any bacterial STD.  I assume, as rare as it is, Syphillis is included in that?  Also, by bacterial STD, do you also mean Chlamydia, Gon, Trich?  Last year shortly after I got the First Positive HSV 1 and 2 results, I started taking Valtrex as a precaution.  With the second Test showing HSV 2 negative, I stopped taking Valtrex about October of last year.  Since then, I have actually had 3-4 oral breakouts, but nothing genitally.  Now, with the Third test showing negative, I assume I do not have HSV2, right?

Welcome to the STD forum.  I'm happy to help, but all I'm going to do is confirm what you were told in several threads in the STD and herpes community forums, and one thread on this one last year. The bottom line is that no STD explains your symtoms.  With your borderline HSV-2 blood test result, you may or may not be infected.  I gether you did not follow the advice from gracefromHPP or others to have a repeat test.

1) You did not have a bacterial STD.  But if you did, the antibiotics would have cured it.  That your symptoms are continuing is additional proof no infection is the cause.

2) Have another HSV-2 test.

3,4) Your HSV-2 test is positive.  Most positive results with ELISA ratio around 2.74 are true, so it is likely you have asymptomatic genital herpes.  However, it is not possible to be certain until you have additional testing.  If you do have HSV-2, it is not the cause of the symptoms you describe.  If you follow the advice to have another test, also get tested for HSV-1.  The result of an HSV-1 test sometimes help determine the meaning of the HSV-2 test.

5) Stop worrying about your minor symptoms.  Just live with them.  They do not mean anything serious.  Herpes is not the cause.

Feel free to return with a follow-up comment to report the results of a repeat HSV testing.  But until then I will have no other comments or advice.
