HIV Test Result

I received my HIV test result and was told by the health care provider not to worry. However, i looked at the result for the test and it read 0.34. I've read on the internet a healthy person without HIV should have ZERO antibodies and that a positive test is 1+ and any less than 1 is negative. My question is why did i have any numbers at all after the decimal point... does that means i have antibodies and could have been exposed to HIV?

There is an HIV prevention and safe sex forum for questions about HIV.  People who use the wrong forum against clear instructions do not normally qualify for refund of the posting fee.  Anyway, your question was answered, so obviously no refund is warranted.  The usual response to a question in the wrong forum is to delete it without reply.  But feel free to use the contact link to speak with MedHelp administration about it.

No more comments in this thread, please.

This is the STD forum. See the information above about which topics go on which forum.

Your test is totally negative.  Every test result shows small numbers like that on the blood test. There is no such thing as a test that shows zero.

Because it's the wrong forum, no follow-up comments or discussion will be permitted.
